[addtoany]

Lafayette Highway Specialties has been providing quality products and timely service to its customers since 1972. Specializing in guardrail, bridge rail, traffic signs, overhead sign structures, fence, and granite curb installation, L.H.S. is a well-known contractor in the Vermont highway construction community. L.H.S. has played a major role in creating Vermont’s infrastructure making it impossible to travel the hundreds of miles of Vermont roads and not see the quality work that they have done in recent years.

The company was founded in 1972 by Francis Lafayette and Bill Sheldon when they purchased the Griswold Fence Company. Soon after, it became Lafayette-Sheldon, Inc., then in 1986, F.R. Lafayette, Inc. when Francis Lafayette bought Bill Sheldon’s share. In the late 1980’s, Francis Lafayette handed over the reins to his daughter, Pam Lafayette. In 2008, Doug Ford and Brent Tewksbury bought the company from their longtime employer and continued the company’s tradition of quality and dependability. Doug and Brent recently changed the company’s name to Lafayette Highway Specialties, opting to keep “Lafayette” in the name because of the weight and respect it receives throughout the industry.
